Viscontea
The 1960's cocoon-like structure suggests transformation, and here it is the gorgeously glowing diffused light that recreates the ambiance of any room the Viscontea is featured in. The internal steel structure is coated with white powder and sprayed with a unique "cocoon" resin to create the diffuser, which is then finished with a protective transparent spray. Inspiration behind the design: Their ability to help us re-imagine the things we see every day is made even more evident in the Castiglioni brothers' use of cocoon imagery. Here, we are inspired by a transformation that, through a soft diffused light, changes everything it touches.
