Our Story

Illuminée first opened its doors as a lighting design showroom nestled in our beloved home of Santa Cruz in 2006. After its success, we opened a second showroom in 2019 to display a curation of Scandinavian furniture, home accessories, and a bit more lighting. We are excited to have launched our e-commerce website in 2022 so we can serve design lovers throughout the US. Although our new website represents just a small hand full of the product catalogue we offer in our stores, we are pleased to present a highly curated shopping experience to our customers.

Isabelle's knack for design has been the basis of her professional life since the beginning. Her passion for interior design is what ultimately inspired her to open Illuminée in 2006. She has created a remarkable collection of artisan made fixtures and lighting options from the world's top lighting manufacturers and is an active and trained member of the American Lighting Association.

Chris brings a broad range of technical experience to the table when creating lighting designs that are both functional and delightful to behold. He's always keeping up with innovations while relying on proven performance for specification and has been an active member of the IESNA Illuminating Engineering Society of North America. For 37 years, collaboration between client and specialist has been the core of his design methods.
